Yosemite is included in a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 12:32 p.m. The warning is valid from Tuesday 11 p.m. until Thursday, Mar. 13 at 11 p.m.
The NWS Hanford CA says to anticipate, “Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 feet above 4000 feet and up to 4 feet on the highest elevations. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.”
“Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage,” the NWS said. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.”
