Winter holiday closures in Saratoga

With the winter holidays on the horizon, government agencies and local businesses will see limited holiday hours or closures.

Saratoga Library

The Saratoga Library will close early at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, and will close fully on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Otherwise, regular hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Wednesday through Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Saratoga Post Office

The post office, located at 19630 Allendale Ave., will remain open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Regular mail and priority mail express mail will be delivered on those days. The post office will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and only priority mail express mail will be delivered. County Sheriff’s Office

Santa Clara County is observing Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 as holidays. The sheriff’s office at 1601 S. De Anza Blvd., Suite 158 in Cupertino will remain open otherwise, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.. Visit sheriff.santaclaracounty.gov/office-sheriff for more information.

Saratoga City Council

The Saratoga City Council will take a brief recess after its Dec. 18 meeting. Council meetings will resume their regular schedule starting Jan. 15, 2025.

Saratoga City Hall

Saratoga city hall will remain closed Dec. 24-27 to observe the holidays and for employee furloughs, and will close again Dec. 30-Jan. 1. Visit saratoga.ca.us/calendar.aspx?CID=14 for more information.

VTA bus and light rail

The Valley Transportation Authority will operate buses and light rail on its usual Sunday or holiday schedule on Jan. 1 and Dec. 25, and will offer additional light rail service on New Year’s Eve. Visit vta.org/go/routes for more information on specific routes and hours.
