Will Coby White-led Bulls make it through the play-in tournament and into the playoffs?

The Bulls are on a 14-5 tear entering Sunday’s regular-season finale.

To repeat: 14 wins and five losses.

To be extra-clear: Yes, these are the Chicago Bulls we’re talking about.

In this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X, we asked if the Bulls will get through the play-in tournament and into the playoffs.

“It’s possible if they continue winning against bad teams,” @ronw_sportsnut commented.

“They don’t care,” @RiisPark99 wrote, “so why should the fans?”

It kind of seems like they care. Have we mentioned the whole 14-5 thing?

Next, we asked where guard Coby White ranks on the list of the best NBA players. Top 50? Top 40? Better than that?

“Next season, he should be in the top 20,” @JBIRD1268 opined, getting a little excited.

Last, we asked you to give Bulls coach Billy Donovan a grade for the season.

“Incomplete would be my grade,” @cubanrican71 wrote.

“How about F since everybody should have been fired years ago?” asked @PepeSilvia05.

Tough crowd. On to the polls:

Poll No. 1: Regardless of whom they have to play, will the surging Bulls make it through the play-in tournament and into the playoffs?

Upshot: Coby White can’t stop scoring. Josh Giddey won’t stop packing the stats sheet. Matas Buzelis wouldn’t know how to make us stop wanting to say “Matas Buzelis” if he tried. Come on, this team has a chance.

Poll No. 2: ESPN ranked Coby White the NBA’s 58th-best player coming into the season. Where should he be ranked now?

Upshot: If White is your best player, you’re obviously not a championship contender and probably aren’t even close. To the right top banana, though, he could make a hell of a second fiddle. What, you thought that mixed metaphor was an accident?

Poll No. 3: Give Bulls coach Billy Donovan a grade for the season.

Upshot: A B seems about right, especially with Donovan having essentially aced the final down the stretch. Fine job, graders.
