Video of Detroit Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson Resurfaces — And It’s a Tear-Jerker

The Detroit Lions are in the offseason, and that slow time makes for an apt opportunity for old video clips to resurface and find new life. Now, a clip of Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson is once again making the rounds, and it’s a tear-jerker.

The Lions selected Hutchinson in the 2022 NFL draft as the second overall pick. He’s been with the team for his entire NFL career and signed a four-year extension with them on October 29, 2025, running through the 2030 season, according to team data.

He’s become a fixture of the Lions, and it certainly helps that he’s a hometown guy. Hutchinson hails from Plymouth, Michigan, and played for the University of Michigan. So, let’s get into this heartfelt video clip.

Aidan Hutchinson of the Detroit Lions Talks to a Little Fan in Video That’s Resurfacing

On Friday, April 10, the ML Football account on X shared a video clip of Hutchinson spotting a little girl wearing his No. 97 shirt at Universal in Orlando. In the video, he goes right up to the girl and introduces himself.

The girl looks shocked and then excited in the video. He poses with her for a photo, and the two go on their way. It’s an adorable moment and shows why the Lions love this guy. He isn’t just a great player on the field. He also has heart.

“When I tell you I love this guy. He has such a huge heart! I will meet him one day,” one follower said on X regarding the video. “Plymouth, Michigan sure is happy to have him as a proud resident of theirs,” another said. “This is the type of player I’m happy to have on my team,” another stated.

“He knows he’s a big scary guy so he keeps his distance and crouches down and let her choose to come to him. He made that little girl feel safe. Green flag right there,” one more added.

While the clip resurfaced on Friday, it was actually first shared by CBS Sports in August of 2025.

Detroit Lions Should Get a Complement to Aidan Hutchison for the 2026-27 Season

Heading into the 2026 NFL draft, many NFL experts and analysts are urging the Detroit Lions to get a complement to Hutchinson to improve their defensive end lineup, which is so crucial in the NFL.

Tim Twentyman of the Detroit Lions’ website notes that while the Lions have Hutch, “teams can never have too many good pass rushers and the Lions should still be looking to add to a group that includes newly signed veterans DJ Wonnum and Payton Turner, returning veteran Levi Onwuzurike and second-year pass rusher Ahmed Hassanein.”

One of his choices is Akheem Mesidor out of Miami. At 25, he’s one of the older players in the draft, but that makes him more mature.

“You can call me a seasoned rookie,” he said at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to Twentyman. “I think I’m coming in more mature with a different approach, different mentality than a lot of younger guys. I think my age could be a plus.”

So, Mesidor is a name to watch for in the 2026 NFL draft, especially for the Detroit Lions.
