UPDATE: MLB World Reacts to Atlanta Braves’ Bryce Elder’s 13 IP Scoreless Streak to Start Season

The Atlanta Braves had major question marks surrounding their starting rotation coming into the 2026 season. However, the Braves have started 6-3, which is solid and much better than last year’s start.

Despite a 2-1 loss on Saturday, Bryce Elder pitched seven innings and gave up zero earned runs. The solid outing gives Bryce Elder 13 innings of scoreless baseball to start the year. Just like everyone predicted.

As you can imagine, social media has caught fire since the recent Bryce Elder start. The Atlanta Braves lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks out west, but the Braves’ solid start continues.

Despite the strong start by Bryce Elder, Elder was tagged with the loss after going seven innings and not allowing an earned run on Saturday night.

The Diamondbacks were able to score two runs, but it was because Elder had a fielding error that allowed two runners to score.

CBS Sports had this to say on the solid Elder start:

“Elder was dominant on the mound after tossing 61 of his 89 pitches for strikes, but unfortunately, a throwing error following a bunt in the second inning allowed the Diamondbacks to score their two runs of the game. Elder has pitched much better than his 1-1 record indicates, though. He has posted 13 scoreless innings and a 13:2 K:BB in his first two outings. His next start should come against the Guardians at home next weekend.”

Here are the best comments courtesy of X.com:

@realbrentreed: “Is Bryce Elder good or something now lol”
@srtology:Damm can’t believe the Braves wasted a cy Young pitching performance from the legendary Bryce Elder. Hopefully Bryce Elder can keep this up, talk about a redemption arc.
@ush_sisk: It was a loss, but Bryce Elder was really good tonight. Workhorse. Reliable.
@Wolfman4206: Vintage ‘24-‘25 performance and it was absolutely disgusting. Killed our playoff chances just like that. Cut Bryce Elder from the sport too. Blew the game along with the offense
