Outdoor enthusiasts hoping to admire Colorado’s snow-dusted Continental Divide up close must look elsewhere after Rocky Mountain National Park’s Trail Ridge Road closed for the season Friday.

The road, also signed as U.S. 34, is closed at Rainbow Curve to the east near Estes Park and at the Colorado River Trailhead to the west near Grand Lake.
Closure points may fluctuate throughout the fall, park officials said in a post on X.
The road will reopen the last week of May if weather allows.
