Top 5 Players From LIV Golf You May Not Know

With the recent departures of Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed to go back to the PGA Tour, the future and current status of LIV Golf is constantly changing. Here’s a list of the top 5 players from LIV Golf you may not know about because they could be relevant incredibly soon.

1. David Puig

GettyPuig has developed into a consistent player while on LIV.

David Puig came to LIV Golf immediately after college, where he played at Arizona State University similar to fellow Spaniard Jon Rahm. Puig has been fairly successful on LIV and in some limited starts on the DP World Tour. Towards the end of 2025, he won the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland Golf Club. His best skill is the driver, where he ranks in the 92nd percentile off the tee on Data Golf, but he is also a fantastic putter, ranking in the 91st percentile. He has significant distance off the tee. His approach and around the green play leaves some to be desired, ranking in the 38th and 28th percentiles respectively. Data Golf also ranks him 58th overall.

2. Abraham Ancer

GettyAbraham Ancer was formally on the PGA Tour, where he once was a top 20 player.

Long time fans of the PGA Tour probably remember Abraham Ancer, but recent fans may not know that Ancer used to be a top 20 player in the world prior to leaving for LIV. While he is far from that player currently, Ancer still has a respectable skillset. He’s only won once on LIV with a victory in Hong Kong during the 2023 season, but he has been a consistent finisher within the top 20 for most LIV events. He’s extremely accurate but short off the tee and a solid approach player, ranking in the 79th percentile per Data Golf. He ranks in the 72nd percentile in putting and 62nd off the tee. His around the green game has been a weak point, only ranking in the 27th percentile.

3. Sebastián Muñoz

GettySebastian Munoz was also once a solid player on the PGA Tour.

Sebastián Muñoz also came from the PGA Tour, where he had a respectable career prior to leaving for LIV. He has largely maintained his form while on LIV Golf by being a consistent top 20 finisher. He won on LIV Golf last year in Indianapolis. Muñoz is known as a proficient ball striker; he’s incredibly accurate off the tee and is a great approach player. He ranks in the 79th percentile on approach per Data Golf. He only ranks in the 55th percentile off the tee because he lacks distance. His short game is pretty average, ranking in the 61st percentile in putting and the 41st percentile in around the green.

4. Carlos Ortiz

GettyCarlos Ortiz finished top 5 at the US Open in 2025.

Similar to Munoz and Ancer, Carlos Ortiz was also once a consistent player on the PGA Tour. However, his form on LIV at times has been excellent. He’s won several times throughout the world since his departure in 2022, including a win at LIV Houston and a couple wins in the International Series on the Asian Tour. In 2025, he finished t-4 at the US Open. Overall, Ortiz is a well rounded player from tee to green. Data Golf ranks him in the 54th percentile off the tee, 79th percentile on approach, and 83rd percentile around the greens. Where Ortiz struggles is with the putter; he only ranks in the 24th percentile.

5. Dean Burmester

GettyDean Burmester has won five times since leaving for LIV.

Dean Burmester has been a prolific player despite a lack of playing time on the PGA Tour in his career. Since leaving for LIV, he has won five times combined on several tours. He won twice on the DP World Tour in 2023, winning the Joburg Open and the Investec South African Open Championship. On LIV, he’s won in Miami and Chicago. Burmester is a powerful driver of the golf ball, ranking in the 93rd percentile off the tee on Data Golf because of his distance. The rest of his game has been hit or miss, ranking in the 47th percentile on approach, the 47th percentile around the greens, and the 59th percentile in putting.
