Timberwolves Coach Has Emotional Message After Donte DiVincenzo News

The Minnesota Timberwolves had a great reason to celebrate on Saturday night, but beyond the Game 4 victory over the Denver Nuggets, the Wolves are hurting.

Early on in Game 4, the Timberwolves lost the veteran guard Donte DiVincenzo to a scary injury. It was feared that the reason he had to come off the court was due to an Achilles-related setback.

After leaving the court, DiVincenzo was spotted sporting a book while being wheeled away in a wheelchair. Not long after, the veteran guard was diagnosed with an injury that ended up being the worst-case scenario.

Chris Finch Has An Emotional Reaction

Following the game, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch addressed DiVincenzo’s setback. Reporters in the room described the head coach as emotional and choked up for the veteran forward, who will miss the remainder of the run.

“Completely devastating for Donte, he was playing so well,” Finch said.

“He’s had such a great season. He’s the heart and soul of so many things that we do. You could see the look in his eye when it happened and you knew. We love him and we’ll be there for him. And hopefully, we can get one more win.”
