Timberwolves Announce Starting Lineup Vs Spurs After Anthony Edwards News

The Minnesota Timberwolves are playing Game 2 of their second-round series against the San Antonio Spurs in a matchup that will feature star Anthony Edwards.

Edwards was questionable for much of the day with the left knee injury he suffered in the series prior, but after leading the Timberwolves to a Game 1 win over the Spurs, his bone bruise and hyperextension aren’t keeping him out.

Before the game that could see Minnesota take a 2-0 series lead, the team announced its starting lineup and final injury report for Wednesday night.

Timberwolves Starting Lineup Vs Spurs

In a pregame social media post, the Timberwolves’ starting lineup was confirmed.

Mike Conley, Terrence Shannon, Jaden McDaniels, Julius Randle, and Rudy Gobert were all named starters by head coach Chris Finch and his staff.

While Minnesota has dealt with several injuries so far through the playoffs, when healthy, or at least as much as they can be right now, the team is using the same starting lineup they used for Game 1.

Without Donte DiVincenzo, who is sidelined for the rest of the season with torn Achilles, Conley is stepping up to fill his role. Ayo Dosunmu would also be a viable option, but as has been the case for most of the year, he’ll come off the bench.

Additionally, Edwards missed a few games and wasn’t a starter in Game 1 and that is once again the case for Game 2 as the Timberwolves continue to take a relatively cautious approach with his knee injury.

Along with Edwards, it will be Randle, Dosunmu, McDaniels, and Naz Reid off the bench as the lead scorers for the Timberwolves, while Gobert will hope to recreate the defensive prowess he showcased on Nikola Jokic against Victor Wembanyama.

Anthony Edwards Injury Update, Full Timberwolves Injury Report

GettyNEW YORK, NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 05: Anthony Edwards #5 of the Minnesota Timberwolves warms up before the game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on November 05, 2025 in New York City.

Edwards was upgraded to available shortly before tipoff of Game 2. He was previously questionable with the same injury that saw him miss the final two games of the Timberwolves’ series against the Nuggets, but after suiting up in Game 1, there wasn’t a big worry that he would miss this game on Wednesday night.

Edwards wasn’t in the starting lineup and was on a minute restriction in Game 1, seeing the court for a total of 25 minutes. When asked about a restriction for Game 2, Finch said, “He might be able to play a few more.”

Dosunmu was also questionable with a calf injury he picked up in the regular season that caused him to miss Minnesota’s last two games. However, like Edwards, he was upgraded to available, set to make his debut in the team’s series against the Spurs. Dosunmu isn’t going to be on a minute restriction, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

However, while the Timberwolves will see both of their backcourt guards, they will be without DiVincenzo for the rest of the season and potentially longer while he recovers from his torn Achilles tendon.

The Spurs will be without Carter Bryant for Game 2 has he deals with a right foot sprain. He is the only player listed on San Antonio’s injury report.

The Timberwolves vs Spurs Game 2 is set to tipoff at 8:30 pm CST on Wednesday, May 6, and will be live on ESPN.
