Tim Anderson announced his retirement from baseball Monday, and the White Sox will honor him before the game Sept. 17, when the team will wear its original “Southside” City Connect uniforms.
Anderson made his announcement on a Zoom call, during which he said baseball brought him a lot of good moments but also a lot of pain. He was visibly sweating on the screen and needed to wipe his face.
“Definitely a lot of dark moments,” Anderson said. “Got to a point where I couldn’t enjoy it. You see I’m sweating. I still love the game; it just brough too much pain for me. So going back to play is not for me right now in life.”
More to come …
