Three men arrested after CHP chase from Vallejo sideshow ends in Oakland

Three suspects have been arrested after signs were stolen during a sideshow in Vallejo.

Vallejo police say late Saturday night, during a sideshow at the intersection of Tennessee and Sacramento streets, where approximately 100 participants were watching vehicles perform donuts and blocking traffic, a street sign was placed inside a stolen 2016 Hyundai Elantra and left the area.

The California Highway Patrol pursued the car to Oakland. The pursuit ended when the vehicle became disabled, and all five occupants attempted to flee on foot. Three of the five adult male suspects were apprehended after running from the scene. A records check revealed that the three suspects, as well as the stolen Elantra, were all from Sacramento.

Officers searched the stolen Elantra and found another stolen street sign inside. Three street signs were found, one from Tennessee, one from Columbus Parkway and another from Ascott Parkway.

The three suspects were arrested and transported to the Solano County Jail on multiple felony charges. The vehicle was towed, and its owner was notified of the recovery. The vehicle will be impounded for 30 days.
