HALF MOON BAY — Three men, all in their 30s with prior theft charges, were arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly stealing groceries from a Safeway in Half Moon Bay, authorities said Sunday.
San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Half Moon Bay Safeway near Main Street and North Cabrillo Highway at about 3 a.m. Saturday on reports of two suspects allegedly shoplifting from the grocery store.
The suspects fled in a SUV. Shortly after, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that matched the description and found four people in the car, one woman and three men. Officers recovered the stolen merchandise and also discovered narcotics paraphernalia.
The woman driver was released but the men, including the two suspected of shoplifting, were arrested for outstanding warrants.
