Denver’s Lower Highland neighborhood is losing a popular fried chicken (and beer) joint.
The Post Chicken & Beer, 1575 Boulder St., will close at the end of dinner service on Saturday, Dec. 7, according to Dave Query, the founder and co-owner of the Big Red F restaurant group.

Query started the Post as a brewery in a former VFW building in Lafayette and opened the LoHi outlet in 2022 after closing Lola Coastal Mexican, a neighborhood staple that had been there since 2006.
“Our twenty-year run in LoHi, first with Lola and more recently with The Post, has come to an end,” Query said in a statement.
Query said he is looking to open another Post location “outside of Denver proper,” along with a stand-alone shop for ButterPunk Cookies, which executive chef Corina Johnson opened this summer as an order window at The Post LoHi.
Query declined a request for an interview through a representative Wednesday.
The Post Chicken & Beer has locations across the Front Range, including a south Denver restaurant at 2200 S. Broadway. But it was the LoHi location that Guy Fieri visited last year for an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”.
In addition to the Post, Big Red F also owns Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, West End Tavern, Centro Mexican Kitchen and Velvet Elk Lounge.
