A teenager suspected of fatally shooting a 15-year-old boy at Rotella Park on Saturday was charged with first-degree murder, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
The teenager was arrested Wednesday and is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a handgun by a juvenile and a sentence-enhancing charge for an aggravated juvenile offender, the district attorney’s office said in a news release Friday.
No other details about the teen or case were released because the suspect is a juvenile.
Adams County sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at Rotella Park at 1824 Coronado Pkwy. near Welby at 11:18 p.m. Saturday, according to previous reporting.
Deputies found Ricardo Alonzo Elgueta Fuentes, 15, dead from a gunshot wound to the neck and a second teenager who had been shot in the leg.
