Teen, man wounded in crossfire from Riverdale shootout

A 14-year-old boy and a man were caught in the crossfire of a shootout Saturday night in Riverdale on the Far South Side.

The two were walking about 7:20 p.m. in the 13100 block of South Ellis Avenue when they saw two large groups of people shooting at each other, Chicago police said.

The boy was shot in the finger, and the man, 20, suffered gunshot wounds to the arm and stomach, police said. Both were hospitalized in good condition.

No one is in custody, and Area 2 detectives are investigating.
