Teen bystander shot, wounded during altercation on CTA bus

A teen was injured after a “verbal altercation” led to a shooting on a CTA bus in Chatham on Monday afternoon, Chicago police said.

Two women were in a “verbal altercation” on a CTA bus in the 8600 block of South State Street at 5:22 p.m. when one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting, police said. A 16-year-old passenger was grazed on his knee and treated at the scene.

No one is in custody.
