A teenager was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murder after a Saturday shooting at an Adams County park killed a 15-year-old boy and injured another teen.
The teenage suspect — who has not been identified by police due to his age — was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, first-degree assault and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, according to a news release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Adams County deputies responded to reports of gunfire at Rotella Park — near Welby at 1824 Coronado Parkway — around 11:18 p.m. Saturday.
When deputies arrived at the park, they found 15-year-old Ricardo Alonzo Elgueta Fuentes had died from a gunshot wound to the neck and another teenager had been shot in the leg, sheriff’s officials said.
