Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs are planning a wedding together, plus Kelce just announced that he’s coming back to the Chiefs for another season in 2026. On Tuesday, March 10, Swift received news that should make both her and her proud future husband happy.
Swift is still riding high on her 12th studio album, “Life of a Showgirl,” which arrived in October 2025 and really shows no sign of slowing down. The album scored the largest first-week sales in modern history, according to Billboard research, and sold more than 4 million equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week with 3.479 million in pure sales. That showing was a record-breaking one and pushed her past the previous record held by Adele.
Now, Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” song off the new album has remained on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for more than 20 weeks, according to research from the industry outlet Chart Data, and was No. 1 for 10 weeks. But, another Swift song is getting the attention now.

More Positive Musical News for Taylor Swift and ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” has done so well that it’s helped her label reach a new milestone. According to research from Billboard, Universal Music Group (UMG) reported a revenue of $14.7 billion for the full year ending on December 31, which was up 8.7% from the same time in 2024.
UMG’s revenue rose roughly 9 percent in 2025, and Billboard notes that much of that has to do with Swift. The powerhouse’s revenue was “driven by sales of Swift’s latest album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ and an 8.6 percent uptick in subscription streaming revenue,” Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot of Billboard report.
Other top artists in their catalog for 2025 included Sabrina Carpenter, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, Morgan Wallen and Lady Gaga. So, it was a combined effort, but Swift was a large part of why this label soared.
“[Last year] was the third year in a row that we have represented nine out of the top 10 best-selling artists on the planet,” UMG CEO and chairman Lucian Grainge said on a call with investors. “The only recording artist whom we did not represent is Bad Bunny, and he’s represented by our Universal Music Publishing division.”
So, Swift is really on top of the musical world right now. Expect things only to get better for her with “Elizabeth Taylor.
