Taylor Swift Gets Bad News Before Travis Kelce Wedding

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs are planning a wedding together, and the tight end has said that they’ll tie the knot before the team’s training camp, which means these two will be married by late July 2026.

So, it’s an exciting time for these two, but amid all the planning and fun, Swift has received some disappointing news.

Swift, of course, unleashed her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” in October 2025, and the album has notched two No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles in “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite.” In total, Swift has earned 14 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 over the course of her career.

Swift started out in the industry as a country artist and signed her first record deal at the age of 15. She was finally able to get back her masters back in 2025, decades after some of these songs came out. So, she owns her entire catalog now, the old and new music.

“I want it because this is my handwritten diary entries from my whole life, these are the songs I wrote about every phase of my life, this is my photography, my music videos, most of which I funded, my artwork, everything I’ve ever done is in this catalog,” Swift said on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast in August 2025.

She added, “We’re in Kansas City, and I get a call from my mom, and she’s like, ‘You got your music.’ And I just very dramatically hit the floor for real balling my eyes out, just weeping.”

Taylor Swift Missed What Would Have Been a Big Moment in Her Career

This year was the first year that Swift was eligible to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and her followers were hoping to see it. But, on Friday, March 20, the Hall announced this year’s inductees, and she wasn’t on the tally.

The Country Music Hall of Fame only inducts three nominees a year, and considering that Tim McGraw is just now getting inducted now, who has been eligible for almost 15 years, it’s probably going to take a few years for Swift to get the honor.

The Country Music Hall of Fame Announces 2026 Inductees

The Country Music Hall of Fame’s 2026 inductees include McGraw, the Stanley Brothers and Paul Overstreet. “Only three artists or industry figures are inducted each year, in contrast to some halls of fame that spread the honors around a bit more broadly, and each is voted in via a different category,” Variety magazine notes.

“The two categories that come up every year are the Modern Era Artist category and the Veterans Era Artist category, the latter reserved for artists who got their start before 1980,” Variety magazine adds of the honor. “McGraw is coming in through the contemporary entrance, and the Stanley Brothers — who began recording in 1947 — through the old-school door.”

In other news, during a Tuesday, March 10, appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Kelce confirmed that he and Swift will get married “before training camp.” So, these two will be husband and wife before too long.
