SWAT standoff enters its seventh-hour after man shoots from Roseland apartment window

A gunman who prompted a SWAT standoff when he shot out of a second story apartment window remains barricaded inside Wednesday morning on the Far South Side.

Around 11:20 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the first block of East 103rd Place and a witness told police they saw the gunman firing, Chicago police said.

He retreated into his apartment and a SWAT team responded, police said.

The standoff was ongoing as of 5:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
