Stretch of northbound I-25 through Denver closed following fatal crash

The northbound lanes of Interstate 25 are closed between University Boulevard and Santa Fe Drive because of an accident, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The agency first posted about the closure on X at 6:25 p.m.

The Denver Police Department reported on its X account that the accident occurred near the Santa Fe Drive interchange and involved two cars. One person was prounounced dead on the scene.
