South San Francisco has a spacious new food hall serving up weekday meals from morning until evening.
In the mornings and early afternoons, Peak Provisions offers coffee from local roastery Progeny Coffee, plus baked goods and breakfast items. For lunch, the Market Hall serves up meals from four restaurant concepts: soups, salads and sandwiches at The Board, Korean dishes and bibimbap bowls at The Layover, Latin lunches at La Ventana — featuring tortillas made on-site — and diner fare at The Stack. Upstairs, there’s Camber, a full-service California-French restaurant and Art Deco-style cocktail bar open for dinner.
The space, inspired by aviation and local history — along with South San Francisco’s historically industrial roots — is located on the Vantage campus, a multi-phase development owned by Healthpeak, a real estate investor that specializes in spaces for biotech companies. It’s operated by Bon Appétit Management Company, which also operates the nearby Foundry & Lux food hall, cafe and lounge.
In addition to employees of nearby companies who have been taking advantage of the space since it opened in mid-November, families with young kids also visit, according to Bon Appétit spokesperson Jessica Rohrig.
There are plans to eventually offer kids’ cooking classes and movie nights, as well as March Madness viewing parties — but much like silent disco, participants can tune in to the audio via personal headphones within the space.
One additional perk, she adds: There’s plenty of parking.
Details: Open Monday-Friday. Peak Provisions is open 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Market Hall 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Camber 4-8 p.m. at 460 Forbes Blvd., South San Francisco; thehangarssf.com.
