South Metro Fire Rescue crews responded to a serious crash near South Parker Road and Emporia Street around 12:11 p.m. that brought power lines down in the intersection, the agency said in a post on X. The officials said one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. While that agency’s X post did not specify who was injured, a post from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department stated a motorcyclist was injured.

Three customers were impacted by an outage in the area, according to Xcel Energy’s outage map.

South Parker Road, which is also called Colorado 83, is closed in both directions between Iliff Avenue and Jewell Circle, according to CDOT.

Drivers should avoid the area, South Metro officials said.
