One person has died and another was taken to a hospital in critical condition after a shooting in Rogers Park near the Howard Red Line station.
It happened in the 1600 block of West Howard Street, according to Larry Merritt, fire department spokesman. The Howard station is nearby, 7519 N. Paulina St.
The victims, only described as male, were shot and one was dead on the scene. The other was taken in critical condition to Presence St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Merritt said.
