Sharks trade forward drafted in first round to Predators

SAN JOSE — The San Jose Sharks traded their 2020 first-round draft pick, Ozzy Wiesblatt, to the Nashville Predators on Sunday for forward Egor Afanasyev.

Afanasyev, 23, led the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals with 54 points, including 27 goals, in 56 regular season games this past season. He has one goal in 19 career NHL games.

Wiesblatt, 22, spent most of the last two seasons with the Barracuda and had 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 34 games. While on loan to Milwaukee to end the season, Wiesblatt played in 16 regular season games and 15 postseason games, and had 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in those 31 games.
