Seven people were forced from their homes after a fire Friday morning burned a detached garage.
The structure was near East Colfax Avenue and North Chester Street, according to a post on X from Aurora Fire Rescue.
Firefighters on the scene found a detached garage in flames. The fire was extinguished and no one was injured, according to the post. No other buildings were damaged.
One adult who lives in the detached garage, six adults who live in an adjacent home and three cats were displaced by the fire, according to the post. The American Red Cross is helping with immediate housing needs.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
