On Saturday evening, the Seattle Mariners will play the Chicago Cubs for their latest spring training game.
The Mariners have two more exhibition games (after Saturday) before their Opening Day showdown with the Cleveland Guardians on March 26 in Seattle.

Before Opening Day, the Mariners announced several roster moves.
Most notably, they made a decision on Colt Emerson.

Emerson was the 22nd pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, so fans are very focused on his development with the franchise.

The Mariners are coming off an excellent year where they were the top team in the American League West with a 90-72 record.
They went 51-30 at home in Seattle.
After defeating the Detroit Tigers in the ALDS, the Mariners lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS (in seven games).
