San Mateo man charged with sexually abusing teen after police allegedly caught them in parking lot

OAKLAND — A San Mateo man has been charged with sexually abusing a teen after police allegedly caught the two together after curfew in an Oakland Hills park.

Jorge Andrade, 22, was charged with multiple counts alleging sexual abuse of a minor and one count of possessing child pornography. The charges stem from a Nov. 18 arrest by the East Bay Regional Parks police, who reportedly caught Adrade and the 16-year-old girl alone in a car during an alleged act of sexual abuse.

The arrest occurred a little before 1 a.m. at the Anthony Chabot Park, court records show.

The girl allegedly lied about her age, claiming to be 19. Andrade later told police he initially believed the girl to be 19 before learning her true age. Police believe the two had been seeing one another for several weeks and that Andrade kept nude pictures of her on his phone.

Andrade is no longer in police custody, according to court records. He has not yet entered a plea.
