Salinas officers arrested two people earlier this week for allegedly molesting a minor for years, according to police.

In a statement on Thursday, Salinas police said they had been alerted to a report of a possible sexual assault of a minor.
During their investigation, detectives learned that the victim underwent numerous sexual assaults over the course of a number of years.
Police alleged the suspects were Candelario Escobar, 21, and Mario Castillo, 24. Both were arrested on Tuesday.
The suspects were booked into Monterey County Jail for suspected lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, and continuous sexual abuse of a minor.
