Ronald Acuña Jr. Drops Hilarious Ozzie Albies Quote After Marlins-Braves Series

As of Thursday evening, the Braves have officially concluded their three-game series with the Marlins. After an 11-3 victory over Miami, Atlanta captured the sweep and has now won eight straight games in MLB.

In Thursday’s win, Ronald Acuña Jr homered twice. Despite getting a rare off day, Ozzie Albies still made an appearance for Atlanta in the later innings and went 0-for-1 with a walk.

Following the Marlins-Braves series, Ronald Acuña Jr. dropped a hilarious Ozzie Albies quote about how he needs to play in tomorrow’s (which is now today) contest against the New York Yankees.

Following the Braves’ sweep of the Marlins, Ronald Acuña Jr, had this to say about his teammate (and good friend), Ozzie Albies.

Per @ChadBishop of the AJC:

“He needs to play tomorrow, please. He was talking a lot.”

Several other Braves reporters echoed this same hilarious sentiment about Ronald’s hilarious quote on Ozzie Albies.

@mlbbowman wrote (about Ozzie’s rare ‘off day’ on Thursday):
“Walt Weiss was unsuccessful with a few attempts to get Ozzie Albies to take a day off earlier this year. He was successful today, but he says he likely now won’t be getting a Christmas card from Albies this year.”

The vibes are clearly very high in the Atlanta Braves clubhouse right now, and it’s easy to see why: the Braves have won eight in a row, have the second-best record in MLB, and have the best record in the NL since the All-Star break with a 15-5 mark.
Winning cures all wounds.

Ozzie Albies has played in 115 games for the Braves this season.

He’s batting .261 with 19 home runs, 21 doubles, 63 RBI, 116 hits, and an OPS+ of 104.

As for Ronald Acuña Jr., he’s played in 63 games and has recorded 57 hits, 11 home runs, 10 doubles, 15 stolen bases, and holds an OPS+ of 119.

Acuña Jr. and Albies have been very close since both joined the Atlanta Braves around the same time, and both have spent their entire career in the same uniform. Acuña Jr. debuted in 2018, and Albies debuted in 2017.

It’s hard not to love the way both players play baseball and have gotten along for so long.
