Rockies Recap: Top prospect Chase Dollander gives up two homers in three innings

On the mound: No. 1 pitching prospect Chase Dollander was roughed up in his second Cactus League start. The Diamondbacks belted two homers and scored four runs (three earned) vs. the right-hander over three innings. Eugenio Suarez hit a three-run homer to left in the first, and A.J. Vukovich hit a solo, opposite-field shot to right in the second. Dollander gave up three hits, walked one and struck out one. … Right-handed reliever Angel Chivilli was charged with three runs on four hits in one inning. … Closer candidate Seth Halvorsen pitched a perfect eighth and has yet to be scored upon.

At the plate: Brenton Doyle hit two doubles and Kris Bryant added another. … Nolan Jones got his first hit of spring with an RBI single to left in the seventh inning, putting a small dent in Arizona’s 8-0 lead. … Sean Bouchard, competing for a job in the crowded outfield, followed up Jones’ single with a two-run triple, cutting the lead to 8-3.

Prospect watch: Second-base prospect Adael Amador went 1 for 1, boosting his average to .313.
