Rockies Recap: Jordan Beck and Sean Bouchard have big days at the plate

Rockies 8, Angels 4

Sunday at Tempe Diablo Stadium

On the mound: Ryan Feltner pitched better than he did in his Cactus League opener, allowing one run over 2 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and a walk. The run he allowed was off a homer by catcher Travis d’Arnaud in the third inning. Jaden Hill had a nice outing, as did Tanner Gordon, who pitched a couple of scoreless innings. Diego Castillo was roughed up for three runs in the seventh inning. Victor Vodnik, who is competing to be the team’s closer, pitched a scoreless ninth.

At the plate: The Rockies offense was humming from the get-go against former Colorado southpaw Tyler Anderson, who gave up four runs in two-plus innings. Jordan Beck had RBI singles in the first and third innings, and finished 3 for 4 with a homer, three RBIs, two runs scored and two steals. Fellow outfielder Sean Bouchard also had a notable day, going 4 for 4 with a double and three runs scored.
