Red Line passenger stabbed near Chinatown/Cermak stop

Charges were pending for a person who stabbed a CTA Red Line passenger while on a train early Friday near the Chinatown/Cermak stop.

The passenger, a 31-year-old man, was riding the train in the 100 block of West Cermak Road around 1 a.m. when he was cut by someone with a sharp object, Chicago police said.

The man suffered an arm injury and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was in fair condition, police said.

A suspect was found and arrested shortly after the stabbing, officials said. Charges were pending.
