Aside from winning three of the last five Super Bowls, representing the AFC in the big game four of those years and rolling into this season’s playoffs with an uncannily good record of 15-2, what have the Chiefs ever really done to impress anybody?
Apparently, not that much. Because in this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X, we asked for your pick to win the AFC and it was the Bills, not the Chiefs, who got the most votes.
“Bills break through finally!” @BremenXCTrack commented.
We also asked for your pick in the NFC, of course. Football’s other 15-2 squad owned the vote.
“I’m tired of [Patrick] Mahomes,” @00723maui wrote, “but I’m not tired of the Lions.”
Not that there weren’t plenty of other outcomes predicted.
“Bills have Josh Allen. Chiefs have Taylor Swift. Ravens have a football team. It’ll be Ravens vs. Eagles in Super Bowl 59,” @LutzTheReporter offered.
Last, we asked how confident you are in GM Ryan Poles and the Bears to nail their next head coaching hire.
“Well, they’ve certainly been doing great so far!” @JoeWeicher cracked.
On to the polls:

Upshot: Until somebody goes into Arrowhead Stadium and kills these Chiefs’ dreams, we’ll just assume Mahomes will find the keys to victory up his sleeve. And under his helmet, in his socks, etc.
