The Baltimore Ravens already have enough to worry about with new players and schemes everywhere, but a new problem is arising.
Among all the new weapons, there are some familiar ones around Lamar Jackson. The franchise quarterback still has top weapons in Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Mark Andrews.
Even with those veterans back, not all of them are having great camps. In fact, the Ravens might have to start worrying about Andrews and how he’s doing.
Mark Andrews Has Some New Concerns With Ravens at Training Camp

The Athletic Ravens reporter Jeff Zrebiec shared his update on what he saw at training camp. Zrebiec is starting to notice a trend: Andrews is having issues with drops.
“Andrews made several catches in Thursday’s practice, but he also had another routine drop during the seven-on-seven period. Andrews has had some issues with drops early in camp, and he also fumbled a ball in Wednesday’s rain-soaked practice. With rookies Matt Hibner and Josh Cuevas on the depth chart and veteran tight end Durham Smythe expected to be used in a blocking role, the Ravens badly need a bounce-back year from Andrews.”
Late last season, Andrews signed a contract extension worth over $39 million to stay in Baltimore. This is despite the fact that he had the worst season of his NFL career. He finished with 48 receptions for 422 yards and 5 touchdowns.
His drops have been a lingering problem throughout his NFL career, though they sometimes come and go. Last season, he had 3 drops, tied for the lowest of his career. In 2019, he had 7 drops, and in 2022, he had 8 drops.
Ravens Need Mark Andrews to Clean Up Drops Issue ASAP

Baltimore decided not to bring back long-time backup tight end Isaiah Likely in the offseason. That puts a lot more pressure on Andrews to be the main feature at tight end.
His drops are coming at a bad time, when new Ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle is trying to figure out who he can trust. Without Andrews being a consistent receiver, Baltimore might be more limited on offense with its play-calling.
If Andrews continues the downward trend he’s on, the Ravens will have to have alternative plans. It could put the franchise in a bind since they are already paying him a lot of money.
The Ravens are just hoping to chalk it up as early training camp problems that should get cleaned up in the next few weeks. For Andrews’ sake, that better be the case, or he could be in trouble with the new coaching staff and Jackson in 2026.
