Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver Rashod Bateman has sent the internet into a frenzy after some recent Instagram posts criticizing his team.
After much confusion in regards to these posts, Bateman has stated that his Instagram account was hacked. He issued an apology after the mishap.
“My apologies for the confusion. My account was hacked by someone I know, lame (expletive). This one and others.” Bateman said in an Instagram statement.
Rashod Bateman’s Future in Baltimore
“While Bateman says the content did not come from him, it’s also no secret that he has voiced frustration with the Ravens in the past — particularly regarding the front office and general manager Eric DeCosta — which added fuel to the reaction surrounding the situation.” Steve Rudden wrote in a Ravens Wire article.
What’s done in the dark will eventually come to the light. The shocking truth is Bateman admitted he agreed with some of the things the hacker posted.
“Although I agree with some (expletive), since yall know me, Ian got the time for some (expletive) either,” Bateman said in his statement. ““End of the day this all a business, and I know what type of player I am. Idc where I’m at, I love ball and look forward to doing that wherever tf I’m at”
Bateman’s statement is sparking a lot of controversy with the Ravens fans and the organization. It is unknown whether or not Bateman was actually hacked, but there is no denying that he is a little frustrated with the franchise.
Though many people find the situation odd, this is raising questions of whether or not Bateman has a future in Baltimore.
Bateman Did Not Have a Great 2025 Season
People often forget that Rashod Bateman is a former 2021 first round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens out of the University of Minnesota.
Baltimore signed the former first round pick to a three-year $36.75 million contract extension in June 2025. Many would say Bateman earned this extension after an impressive 2024 season with the Ravens.
Bateman played all 17 games for the Ravens in 2024. The Ravens wideout recorded nine touchdowns and racked up 756 yards during the 2024 season. Many expected more production from Bateman in 2025.
And it never came.
Although he has shown flashes of being good to great, some would say he has been inconsistent throughout his career. Injuries have also played a part in his inconsistency with the team.
Bateman only had 19 receptions for 224 yards in the 2025 season. While injuries played a role, he played in 13 of the Ravens’ 17 games in 2025.
Nonetheless, Bateman’s production was a reflection of the Ravens’ inconsistent play all year long. The Ravens finished the season 8-9.
After having big expectations for the 2025 season, the Ravens missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
“Moving forward, the focus will be on how Bateman responds on the field and within the locker room,” Rudden wrote in the article. The Ravens have continued to support the former first-round pick, but with the offseason underway, both sides will look to put the situation behind them. Still, given the timing and Bateman’s past frustrations, it’s fair to wonder whether this episode could ultimately mark the beginning of the end of his time in Baltimore.”
Fans will be anticipating where this goes amid all of the controversy.
