The Los Angeles Rams and star quarterback Matthew Stafford came up just short of the Super Bowl last season.
After making a run to the NFC Championship Game, they ended up losing to the Seattle Seahawks by a final score of 31-27. It was a tough loss to swallow, but one that showed just how close the Rams truly are to winning another championship.
Heading into the offseason, Los Angeles was expected to have an aggressive mindset. Les Snead did not disappoint, pulling off a blockbuster trade with the Kansas City Chiefs to acquire star cornerback Trent McDuffie. The Rams have had a quality offseason.
With that in mind, Snead is never done searching for ways to improve the roster. Could the team look to take another big swing?
Los Angeles has been connected as a potential fit for another offensive weapon to support Stafford even more.
Los Angeles Rams Named Possible Stefon Diggs Suitor
CBS Sports analyst Tyler Sullivan took a look at potential fits for remaining free agents following the 2026 NFL Draft. When it came to Diggs, the Rams were the team he came up with.
“The Rams had been hunting for a wide receiver to add alongside Puka Nacua and Davante Adams all offseason. So far, they haven’t come away with one, opting to take Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson at No. 13 overall instead of addressing that need,” Sullivan wrote.
“Diggs is coming off a strong 2025 campaign with the Patriots, topping 1,000 yards while helping the franchise reach Super Bowl LX. The veteran’s production slowed down the stretch run, but there is still fuel in his tank, especially if he’s playing a complementary role like he would in Los Angeles.”
Stafford is coming off of an MVP-winning season. With Puka Nacua and Davante Adams already on the roster, bringing in a player like Diggs would make the Los Angeles offense even more difficult for defenses to stop.
Stefon Diggs Is Coming Off of an Impressive Super Bowl Run
During the 2025 NFL season with the New England Patriots, Diggs proved that he is still more than capable of being a highly-productive wideout.
He played in all 17 regular season games, catching 85 passes for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. In the playoffs, he racked up 14 catches for 110 yards and a score in four games.
Spotrac has offered a potential price tag that it would take to sign Diggs. They have projected his market value to be around $13.8 million per year. The Rams would likely be able to land him on a one or two-year deal.
Whether or not Los Angeles actually has interest in Diggs remains to be seen, but the the Rams are a team at least worth watching.
