Raiders’ Ashton Jeanty Gets Strong Prediction for 2026 Season

It wasn’t an easy 2025 NFL season for Las Vegas Raiders‘ Ashton Jeanty. There was the stance change pushed by former offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, which was later reverted back, along with the issues on the offensive line. As a result, Jeanty faced an uphill battle, but he was still able to perform.

Nonetheless, last season with the Raiders, Jeanty posted a 70.4 overall PFF grade, ranking 34th out of 55 qualified running backs. His 73.1 rushing grade also placed 34th in that group.

Jeanty handled a heavy workload with 266 carries for 975 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 3.7 yards per attempt. He forced 61 missed tackles and averaged 3.1 yards after contact per carry, showing his strength between the tackles.

The Raiders standout also contributed in the passing game, catching 55 of 68 targets for 346 yards and five touchdowns. Despite the challenges, Jeanty recorded over 1,000 yards from scrimmage, and heading into Year 2, former Raiders offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse sees a bigger season for the running back.

“I think [Jeanty] is ripe, especially given how much [Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak] still wants to run the football, for a blow-up second year,” Newhouse said on the April 17 edition of the “Just Win Podcast.”

“Especially in this new NFL, I love running backs, I always will as a lineman, but the value for running backs, especially rookie ones, comes in these first four years.

“So to me, they’re going to be giving him the rock. He’s going to get some touches in the passing game… So even with how good a rookie season I believe he had, given the circumstances, with just a little more stability, better blocking, and a better scheme, he is ripe for an explosive second year.”

Raiders HC Klint Kubiak Talks Ashton Jeanty

On February 10, Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak didn’t hold back his thoughts on Jeanty heading into next season as the Silver and Black look to get more out of their star running back in 2026.

“Very excited about [Jeanty’s] skill set and what he brings,” Kubiak said about Jeanty. “I’ve got a lot of tape to catch up on. I saw him play a lot of snaps at Boise [State]. Very excited about his talent. The thing I would tell him and all his teammates is that it’s not just about one guy.

“We’ve got to get the line on the same page; we’ve got to get our quarterback to get the right run checks. We’ve got to get our receivers to go block for him so that we can get the play action going. But as soon as our players can realize it’s a team thing and not an individual thing, we’re going to be successful.”

Las Vegas Blunt Message Over Ashton Jeanty

Moreover, former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew shared how the Raiders should be using Jeanty next season.

“You have to find a way to find a coach that’s creative enough to get him in space and to get him running like Christian McCaffrey does, like Kyle Shannon does with Christian McCaffrey, ” Jones-Drew said on the Jan. 23 edition of “89 with Steve Smith and James Palmer.”

“So to me, that type of offense with that type of usage where he’s up at wide receiver, he’s in the backfield, he’s motioning, all this creativity stuff. Oh, he would excel in that.”
