Pueblo man sentenced to 30 years in prison for production of child sexual assault material

A 36-year-old man was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the production of child sexual assault material.

Kevin Conrad of Pueblo in October 2024 accepted a plea deal in which he pleaded guilty to one count of production of child sexual assault material and two other charges were dropped. If Conrad is released, he will have to register as a sex offender. He also agreed to pay $50,000 as restitution to the victim, according to court documents.

Conrad was reported to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office for sending child sexual assault material images of himself and a child under the age of five over Facebook Messenger in October 2022, court documents state.

After Conrad was arrested on an unrelated traffic warrant in October 2022, federal law enforcement agents questioned him and he admitted he produced a video of him sexually assaulting a child under the age of 5 a year earlier, according to court documents. A joint investigation by the FBI and local Pueblo law enforcement discovered hundreds of screenshots and five to ten photos of child sexual assault material sent through Facebook Messenger using Conrad’s phone.

A grand jury indicted him in June 2023 on one count each of production, possession, and distribution of child sexual assault material, according to court documents. He pleaded guilty to producing child sexual assault material between Sept. 6, 2021, and Oct. 1, 2022.
