Chicago police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the gunman in a fatal shooting nearly two years ago in Avalon Park.
Keith Strange, 31, was shot about 8:15 p.m. Feb. 7, 2023, as he loaded boxes into a pickup truck in front of his family’s home in the 8100 block of South Kenwood Avenue, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Strange was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center.
Surveillance photos of a man who may be the shooter were released Tuesday by police, who described him as having a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a light-colored winter coat with fur trim on the hood, dark-colored shirt and pants, and dark-colored gym shoes with light-colored trim.
