Chicago police are looking for the driver of a sport-utility vehicle wanted in connection with a hit-and-run that critically injured a 44-year-old man early Wednesday in Avondale on the Northwest Side.
Around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, a 44-year-old man was walking in the 3600 block of West Diversey Avenue when the SUV hit him and left the scene, police said.
The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital with a brain bleed and fractures to his right knee, both fibulas and both tibulas, according to police. He was listed in critical condition.
The wanted vehicle was a dark-gray four-door SUV with yellow Illinois temporary plates that fled the scene after the accident, officials said.
