Police issue warning following Logan Square, Palmer Square sex assaults

Police are warning residents after three women were sexually assaulted in Logan Square and Palmer Square.

The most recent assault occurred around 3:40 a.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of North Troy Street, police said. The others occurred Jan. 14 at 9:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of West Armitage Avenue and Jan. 18 in the 2800 block of West Bloomingdale Avenue at 3:10 a.m.

In each of the assaults, the man approaches women from behind, either on the sidewalk or in the hallway of apartment buildings, and assaults them; twice he was armed with a sharp object, police said.

The man is described as unshaven, with short black hair, brown eyes and between the ages of 29 and 35, police said. He stands between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 10.
