PLEASANTON — Police here got a surprise Tuesday afternoon when a local resident showed up to the station and informed officers he had just killed his mom, authorities said.
The man, identified as 31-year-old Malcolm Tilley, was booked into jail Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of murder. He has not yet been charged, but police say they followed Tilley’s tip back to a home on Alvarado Street, where they found a woman dead from multiple stab wounds.
Tilley allegedly told police that he had an argument with his mom, that she was dead, and that he had gone to the station to give himself up. Police say they located several knives at the Alvarado Street home. The woman’s body was right where Tilley said it would be, according to authorities.
The victim’s name has not been released. Tilley is being held without bail, and if charges are filed, he is set to be arraigned in a Dublin courthouse on Thursday morning, records show.
