PLEASANT HILL – A motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a collision with a vehicle Wednesday night in Pleasant Hill, police said.

The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. at the intersection of Contra Costa Boulevard and Dexter Drive, the Pleasant Hill Police Department said in a news release.

The motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Contra Costa Boulevard and collided with a vehicle turning left from the southbound direction onto Dexter Drive, police said.

The motorcyclist was taken to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek with major injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was not injured and stayed at the scene, police said.

Northbound Contra Costa Boulevard was closed between Beth and Ellinwood drives until about 10:40 p.m. for an investigation into the crash, according to police.
