PHOTOS: 36th annual Champagne Cascade at The Brown Palace in Denver

The Brown Palace hosted its 36th annual Champagne Cascade in its elegant lobby on Nov. 10, 2024 in Denver.

It featured a master swordsman using a Napoleonic saber to sever the bottlenecks of four magnums of Moet & Chandon. The champagne is then poured into the uppermost glass of a two-story, 5,201-glass pyramid, overflowing to the glasses below, creating a dazzling display.

This year members of the audience were given the opportunity to take part in an auction to be chosen to be the ones pouring the champagne into the glasses. Two people bid a total of $29,000 to be donated to St. Joseph’s Hospital. The 2024 Champagne Cascade benefits Intermountain Health Saint Joseph Hospital, a non-profit hospital founded by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth in 1873. From pioneering medical breakthroughs to providing safe, high-quality and compassionate care, Saint Joe’s is honored to have touched countless lives throughout its 150-year history.

The event hosted hundreds of guests that had the opportunity to watch the festivities from the hotel’s multiple floors. The Cascade serves as the official unveiling of the seasonal decor in the lobby which team of 20 worked to set up — including: A 25×25-foot, two-ton chandelier (provided by the Debutante Ball), 250,000 crystal beads, 60,000+ LED lights, 500 pounds of glitter and 4,800 ornaments.
