Despite the weather temperatures pushing 100° throughout the three-day festival, attendees often plan their outfits weeks ahead, and in 2025, festivalgoers understood the assignment when it came to their ensembles.

Coachella has seen its fair share of fashion trends since it first began in 1999. From band tees to hipster headbands to the Vanessa Hudgens effect of the mid-2010s, where everyone looked to the internet to see what the actor, dubbed “Queen of Coachella,” wore to the festival for inspiration. The festival grounds became a sea of Boho-inspired pieces.

In the 2020s, attendees began to pull style inspo from the Stagecoach Country Musical Festival, which happens after weekend two of Coachella.

Cowboy boots and hats and Country Western chic came into the mix. Both Lady Gaga and Beyoncé have incorporated Western looks into their styles in recent years, and as of Friday night, both are considered Coachella’s top headlining performances of all time.

This year, some of the biggest fashion trends thus far have been leopard print everything, sparkles, sheer skirts and blouses, crocheted tops, and like usual, when it comes to footwear: boots made for walkin’.

The hottest accessories are parasol umbrellas (genius because they help shield festivalgoers from the sun), scarves and bandanas styled every which way, and Western-style chunky belts.
Fans also went all out, preparing to see their favorite performers with ensembles that paid homage. One festivalgoer rocked a spiked bra and coke can pin curls á la Lady Gaga circa 2010.
