Philadelphia Phillies Get Bryce Harper Update After Rockies Game

On Saturday night, the Philadelphia Phillies played the Colorado Rockies at Citizen Bank Park.

The Phillies won by a score of 9-3.

Alec Bohm led the way with two home runs and four RBI’s.

Todd Zolecki of MLB.com wrote: “Alec Bohm had two homers and a double in his return to the lineup. But all the right-handed bats showed up: Trea Turner (four hits), Adolis Garcia (two hits), Edmundo Sosa (one) and J.T. Realmuto (one).”

During the first inning of Saturday’s game, Bryce Harper left with a migraine.

Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote:Felix Reyes is batting for Bryce Harper in the first. Harper was removed with a migraine.”

Following the game, the Phillies announced the latest on Harper.

Via Ty Daubert of Phillies Nation: “The Phillies were not aware of Bryce Harper having any migraine symptoms prior to the game, so it seemed to have started pretty suddenly. Don Mattingly said director of medical services Paul Buchheit thought Harper would be available tomorrow, but they’ll have to see for sure.”

Harper is in his eighth season playing for the Phillies.

He had entered the day batting .282 with 40 hits, nine home runs, 23 RBI’s, 24 runs and two stolen bases in his first 39 games.

While it doesn’t sound serious, the health of Harper extremely important to the Phillies.

Félix Reyes (who came in for Harper) finished with one strikeout in four at-bats.

The 25-year-old is in the middle of his rookie year with the Phillies.

The Phillies are currently 18-22 in 40 games, which has them as the third-place team in the National League East.

They are 1.0 games back of the Washington Nationals for second (and 8.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves for first).

At home, the Phillies have gone 11-12 in 23 games.

After one more game with the Rockies, they will head to Boston for a series with the Red Sox that starts on Tuesday night at Fenway Park.
