The Philadelphia Eagles have the NFL’s best general manager in Howie Roseman. No one else is really close at this point.
Roseman got here by making trades no one else can make — or has the guts to make — and by making a lot of different moves.
Roseman’s comments to “Up & Adams” host Kay Adams on Thursday seem to indicate we’re about to see some deals start lighting up the scoreboard sooner than later.
“If opportunities come about that will make us better, we have to look at that,” Roseman said. “We owe that to our team, players, fans, and to our owner, and there will be an opportunity at some point, whether it’s looking at cuts or trades … whatever we have now (on the roster), something’s going to change.”
It doesn’t get much more straightforward than that.
“Eagles GM Howie Roseman has made a trade in August in each of the last five years,” The Philly Special’s Anthony DiBona wrote on his official X account on Thursday. “It would be surprising if he didn’t make a trade.”

What Eagles Might Be Looking for in Trade
The most clear-cut position of need for the Eagles seems to be at safety, where they lost longtime starter and Super Bowl champion Reed Blankenship to the Houston Texans in free agency.
The Eagles also might be looking to add an elite edge rusher to pair opposite Jonathan Greenard — Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith Jr. are hardly sure things — and on offense there’s a chance they might be looking to add another wide receiver.
