PGA Championship Opening-Round Pairings & Tee Times Set as Scottie Scheffler Begins Title Defense

The 2026 PGA Championship officially begins Thursday atAronimink Golf Club near Philadelphia, where 156 players will compete for the Wanamaker Trophy in the second major championship of the season.

Tournament officials released the opening-round tee times and pairings ahead of Thursday’s first round, featuring several high-profile groups led by Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, and Bryson DeChambeau.

McIlroy enters the week looking to win back-to-back majors after capturing The Masters earlier this spring. Scheffler returns as the defending PGA Championship winner, while Jordan Spieth arrives with a chance to complete the career Grand Slam.


Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth & Jon Rahm Lead Featured Morning Group

The marquee morning pairing features McIlroy, Spieth, and Rahm teeing off together at 8:40 a.m. ET from the 10th tee.

McIlroy is attempting to begin 2026 with victories in the first two majors of the year while also chasing his third PGA Championship title. Spieth, meanwhile, is seeking the one major championship missing from his résumé.

Other notable morning groups include DeChambeau, Ludvig Åberg, and Rickie Fowler at 8:18 a.m. ET.

Shortly afterward, Xander Schauffele, Brooks Koepka, and Tyrrell Hatton will tee off together at 8:29 a.m. ET.


Scottie Scheffler Headlines Afternoon PGA Championship Pairings

The featured afternoon group includes Scheffler, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Justin Rose teeing off at 2:05 p.m. ET.

Scheffler enters the week after skipping the Truist Championship and is looking to become just the third golfer to successfully defend a PGA Championship title.

Another featured afternoon trio includes Cameron Young, Keegan Bradley, and Justin Thomas at 1:54 p.m. ET.

Additional notable groups include Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa, and Shane Lowry, as well as Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre, and Chris Gotterup.
