Person struck by Metra train near Lake Forest station

A person was struck by a Metra train Monday morning in north suburban Lake Forest, causing ‘extensive’ service delays.

Around 8:55 a.m., outbound train 2107 on the Milwaukee North Line struck the person near the Lake Forest station, 911 Telegraph Rd., Metra officials said.

Delays were expected to be “extensive” but officials didn’t know exactly how long they’d last.

Inbound and outbound train movement has been halted near Lake Forest due to a pedestrian being struck by 2107. Extensive delays are anticipated.
